New York City Air Project examines the issue of air pollution in Beijing by contrasting it with the air quality in New York City following Zhang’s return to Beijing from New York City in 2014. This project captures the essence of breathing New York City air on various days from 2018 to 2023, and will continue. Each sealed bottle of New York air is paired with a documentary photograph, offering a visual and tangible memory of the city's atmosphere. This poetic expression underscores the seriousness of how air pollution contributes to the issue of climate change.
