Chi Zhang (b. 1988, Beijing, China) is a visual artist, art educator, and art professional formerly based in New York, who currently lives and works between Beijing, Shanghai, China and New York, USA. Zhang received her MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, New York (2013), and her BA in Studio Art from Stony Brook University (2010). Her works have been exhibited both nationally and internationally. Zhang has also participated in the Pantocrator Gallery Summer Artist Residency (Shanghai, China), NARS Foundation International Artist Residency (Brooklyn, New York, USA), The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists AiR Program (SÍM Residency, Reykjavik, Iceland). Deeply resonating with Joseph Beuys' concept of social sculpture—where everything is art and every aspect of life can be approached creatively—Chi Zhang's multidisciplinary practice encompasses installation, painting, drawing, and the documentation of daily activities, all of which revolve around personal narratives and perceptions shaped by diverse social contexts. In an increasingly complex and tumultuous social climate, Zhang's art explores the pursuit of inner peace and the beauty of emptiness, while fostering meaningful conversations and connections beyond the confines of the artwork. Through her exploration of the human experience, Zhang offers a unique perspective on contemporary society, inspiring viewers to look both inward and outward with greater empathy and understanding.

In addition to art practice, Zhang has engaged in various art-related fields, independent art projects, etc. She is also an art educator with experience teaching students of all ages in a variety of studio, classroom, and museum settings, including programs for adults, young art professionals, and college and high school students.
